Abstract

Although both China and Japan, Chinese cultural circle , but the two countries in terms of social customs , habits, language and culture , there are still big differences. These cultural differences become a major factor in causing conflicts or misunderstandings in intercultural communication. Thus , from the perspective of speech acts perspective differences between the two countries , analyze the causes of their cultural level , can effectively avoid cultural conflicts and misunderstandings arise. Among the speech act , I selected the behavior of telephone requests as the research object because the act itself is an easy request to harm others face , causing unpleasant verbal behavior of others . Moreover, when requested by telephone manner , both sides see each other's facial expressions and movements, only to transmit information through language, which requires the requesting party must pay attention to in order to achieve the purpose of communication language skills and strategies. In this paper, from the \In politeness theory, Brown and Levinson 's politeness theory and Usami DP influential theory , thus becoming one of the effective means of analysis of verbal behavior . I examine two different perspectives from the Sino-Japanese phone requests speech act , in order to more comprehensive system to capture the nuances of the two speech acts , provide a reference for cross- cultural communication . For a true representation of the phone requests speech act , the corpus of this thesis are selected from the Sino-Japanese film and television work and books. In the first chapter of this thesis summarizes the request of speech acts related research , and pointed out the lack of prior studies , and to establish the purpose and methods of this paper . In the second chapter , clearly the main content of the speech act request with the paper -related concepts and two politeness theory. Chapters III and IV , respectively, from Brown and Levinson 's politeness theory and the theory of DP angle on the day the phone requests a comparative study of speech acts , summarize the two countries in the implementation of the request by telephone idiomatic language behavior strategies to explore the underlying causes of the cultural level. Finally , the study of the content of these chapters were summarized, and propose future research.
