From the mid-14th century to the early 20th century, the Chaghatay Uyghur language commonly used by the Uyghur, Uzbek and other Turkic peoples lived in Xinjiang region and central Asia. Because this language began to be used from the Chaghatay Khan period, internationally, it is also called "Chaghatay language". The language had played very significant role on cultural development of nationalities in Xinjiang and central Asia. Numerous works about religion, history and other fields handed down from generation to present time were written by this language. It provides very useful information for studying the history and culture of that time.As an extension of ancient and modern Uyghur, there is a close relation between Chaghatay language and Uyghur language used in different period. By the developing of language history, from Old Uyghur, Chaghatay Uyghur to Modern Uyghur, because of many reasons, there are many changes happened along the language evolution. As we know, there are some common elements and differences in Old Uyghur, Chaghatay Uygur and Modern Uyghur literature.Studying on the Chaghatay Uyghur literature has played a scientific role in understanding of Uyghur language evolution.This dissertation sets the distinguish collection of poems named as "Divan-i Mesreb", one of important manuscripts in Chaghatay Uyghur literature. Babarehim Mesreb is a famous Uyghur poet who wrote this book around 17th century.Divan-i Mesreb, was the essential famous works about politics, society, morality, religion and other aspects. The author has expressed his own opinion about these issues in his poetry.This poetry, not only reflects the author’s own ideas and value of the life and world, but also has a great meaning in the research of ancient language. This poetry divided in two parts:one is his own works, another part is talking about his life. But these materials were collected by others which including some mysteries and amusing stories.Since the manuscript was found, some scholars did research on author’s life. However, scholars did not carry out research on language and literature. Therefore, this dissertation focused on the literary feature and analyzes the structural characteristics, contents and styles of this works.In this paper, research sets on the literary feature of works, in order to describe the features of Chaghatay Uyghur literature in 17th century.
