With the continuous development of Internet technology and the popularity of the IPv4 address shortage increasingly obvious defects , gradually boarded the big stage of the Internet as a primary goal to resolve address issues of IPv6 technology . Neighbor Discovery Protocol IPv6 protocol suite in a more important underlying protocol , responsible for the link within the interaction neighbor information and routing information . Distributed frame - switch hardware carrier discovery protocol based on the design and implementation of the Linux kernel, the neighbors in the distributed environment . Distributed frame - switch is a device box and stencil -based expansion of the high-end business and interface switches , insertion / extraction interface board , interface board has independent software processing capabilities . Running on distributed frame switch network protocol modules in addition to the basic functions of the protocol , the need to provide additional data synchronization mechanism to ensure the synchronization of data between all board Neighbor Discovery Protocol is no exception . First, the article describes the IPv6 neighbor discovery protocol basics and works . Secondly, the software module design based on Linux2.6 kernel non- distributed Neighbor Discovery ( ND) . Embedded Linux kernel the ND module to the form of threads , NetLink Socket and message queues mating communication , combined with Linux EPOLL mechanism design scheduling model . Again , the hardware structure combined with distributed frame switch ND software modules to extend and improve it to support the distributed nature of , and be able to run in the distributed frame switch . Finally, through functional testing and performance testing completed ND module system testing , functional testing completed by the internationally accepted IPv6Ready test , performance test is completed by an independent design system test cases .
