Abstract


Since the end of 2009, the television dating programmes in China have revived in various satellite channels, with the programmes such as Fei cheng wu rao (If you are the one), Wo men yue hui ba (Let’s have a date) and Hun yin bao wei zhan (Defence for marriage) updating the ratings and a new round of television dating programmes following the fashion. Despite the breakthrough dating approach of interactivities in the programme, suggesting the vitality of the television media, however, in June in the year of 2010, the state administration of radio, film and television (SARFT) has successively issued two documents Notification upon the management of further regulations of TV dating programmes– SARFT and Notification upon the management reinforcement of emotional stories TV programmes– SARFT, demonstrating the issues of cheating and vulgarity occurred in the TV dating programmes, which have been considered to have an impact on the construction and development of the main value system of the society, thus carrying out the strict regulations. Therefore, calm reflection and rational analysis are required for the audience when examining the returning TV dating programmes.This essay is based on the actual background the television dating programmes and analysed from the perspective of media ecology, interpreting the scale of the television dating programmes in China and the challenge of the social development to the dating programmes on television as well as the solution for the development of television dating programmes. With the intention of the healthy development of television dating programmes, the essay has a provided systematic analysis for the ecological research of the television dating programmes and the strategies for the prevalence of the programme Fei cheng wu rao (If you are the one)
