Because of first junior students’special stage,which is called "break milk period", peer relationship has become the main interactive groups after the relationship with parents for junior, with their physiological, psychological and the environment changing, it is easily cause problems to first junior students’s peer relationship adaptation. Experiments from primate and related research have proved that bad peer relationship will cause difficulty in society adaptation, so it is meaningful to improve junior’s peer relationship.Although the studies of peer relationship have made some achievements, but the systematic and comprehensive are not enough. Most of them are theory or related study, there are practice studies since 1900’s, but most counsellings for bad peer relations start from individual, they are all not pay attention to the whole environment of children.In this paper, the first junior students in a middle school which is from Shanxi Province as the research object. Selected Two classes which have no different at the ratio of sex, source, age and teachers as participants. The research randomly selected one as experimental group and another is control group, and class one is the experimental group, the second class is the control group, there are 57 students in class one, another class has 54 students.This study use before-after comparison between the experimental group and control group method, research tools are companion rating scale and the survey of group activities. Peer rating scale has a certain degree of reliability and validity; group activity questionnaire has two parts, namely, the issues involved before and after intervention’s questions. Study procedures is:firstly, the experimental group and control group have pre-test, pre-test of the scale including peer rating scale, and the first part of the survey questionnaire;then study started intervention to the experimental group with the method of group counseling, which has eight times and lasted eight weeks;after eight weeks, the experimental group and control group have test respectively, the experimental group’s survey including peer rating scale and the second part of the questionnaire, the survey of control group is peer rating scale.Then analyse the results of survey, through the scores from the results: Overall, there is no differences between boys and girls in their peer interaction, but the average score of girls is higher than boys’;the students from the towns is highter than the rural students’,and have significant difference between them(p<0.05).After the intervention, the experimental group average score is higher, and scores have a significant difference between two groups(p<0.01). The experimental group’s pretest and posttest scores is significant difference (p<0.01). Control group, the average score of post-test is highter than the pretest’s, but the control group’s pretest and posttest scores did not differ.Therefore, this study have conclusion as follows:1.The condition of first junior students’peer relationship adaptation is well.2.There is no gender difference at the part of peer relationship adaptation;but the students who are from different place is not the same, students from the town is better than from the rural.3.Group counseling activities for improving peer relationship adaptation is effective.4.The design of the intervention is feasible.
