Abstract


Social crisis is a normal condition, and it’s also the theme that the media often confronted. The crisis that happened every year caused heavy losses; thousands of lives were taken away. Based on the related department’s data, since 2002, about 6000.Person died in mine disaster every year in China. In 2005, the number had reached 80% of the whole number of the world who died in mine disaster. In our mass media, the reportage about mine disaster is growing fast. We ought to thanks to media for their reporting. But we still have so many shortages in our reportage, especially in our mine disaster reportage.During the economic transition and transformation of our society, it is a crucial time that the mine disaster with a high-incidence period. Thus, the crisis had becoming the most important news on the media. However, the factors from institution and tradition of our country had constraint the reportage of public emergencies on the media. Many of local governments still have the customary rules that conceal the incidents and making media reports with unified standards which is better and concealing what is worse. When public emergencies happened, it always overcautious or kept silent. This harmed the right belongs to the public ought to know, and also damage the credibility of our government.Through this study, we can infer that the reportage of the mine disasters on the media is progressing constantly. For instance, the timeliness, strengthened transparent reports, various angels and humanistic care were embodied in the reportage. With developing of China’s economy, political and media’s improvement, the reportage of mine disaster would making a big progress in the future.
