Abstract


Early computer software is command-line mode.With the development of software industry, the software with graphical user interface(GUI) which is easy to use was more and more popular with the users. Users just need to click mouse to use the software and no need to remember a series of complicated commands.Software testing is an important way to ensure software quality, and currently GUI software plays a large proportion in software products. How to test them sufficiently and conveniently has became an urgent problem, especially in regression testing and performance testing. If we just test it manually, then it will be a huge waste of human and material resources.In this dissertation I studied the current GUI automation test tools and automation test theory, also analyzed their advantages and disadvantages, then proposed a test automation framework based on keyword-driven test method. A test automation tool is implemented based on this test automation framework.Current GUI test automation tools commonly use capture/playback technology to record test scripts, which is not only inefficient but also often get unsatisfied scripts with many errors. And these test scripts is very dependent on the software interface; sometimes even just a bit change occurring to the interface may make the scripts unusable.The GUI automation test framework implemented in this dissertation can solve this problem in some degree. Keyword-driven testing technology abstracted the actual test code from the test scripts. In this dissertation XML document is used to save test scipts and the test results also can be verified automatically.This system can be used in regression testing and functional testing and improve the the level of automation testing, which reduces manual testing. So it has practical significance in improving software quality and shortening the software development cycle.
