As a measurement of teaching, examinations have a very long history. In the meantime, the examination mode is constantly being updated and developed along with the technical progress. At first, traditional examination is based on paper and pen, and then based on computer. In current, net examination is avaliable based on the combination of computer and network.Comparing to traditional examination, network examination has the following advantages. At first, it provides a convenient test environment. Second, it reduces the burden of teachers, saves the cost of manpower, material and financial resources, such as printing paper. At last, network examination improves scientific nature, fairness, safety of the examination highly.This thesis is combining with the viewpoint of software engineering, applying business flow chart, data tree and E-R diagram for requirement analysis and system design. The implementation of college Chinese network examination system is based on browser/server system structure,which adopts related software technologies, such as Active Server Page,VBscript, and the SQL Server 2000. The main function of system is including questions of management, candidates’ information management,paper management,online examinations and automatic reading. It is characterized in its convenience and fastness in setting a test paper,its speed and accuracy in evaluating the paper and its scientific analysis of the test paper. The network examination system is best for improving the evaluation level of college Chinese and exploration of educational reform.
