Abstract


Among areas in the information backup and restore, backup and restore partitions is important. Storage partition backup and restoring software is easy to install, simple operation. When system crashes, it can quickly and easily restore to normal working state by using this software. Whether an individual user or group users, the PC machine and the server, storage partition backup and restoring software are very high frequency of use, and demand is huge. Currently, support for network storage partition backup and restoring software, mainly the series of Symantec’s Ghost software; domestic software are mostly packaged software in a foreign country, and there is no real intellectual property rights. Also, many domestic users of the software is the Ghost series of pirated software. Based on the above, this paper studies and implements network storage partition backup and restoring software. More than ordinary file backup and restoring, storage partition backup and restoring is more complex, more difficult.This paper describes the principles of the software, functional model, communication protocols, the overall module and independent platform. In this paper, the software has two parts, client software and server software. Client software can run on Linux platforms and platform-independent. Server software can run on the Windows, Linux platforms and independent platforms.In this paper, the client software features are: local backup, local restoring, remote backup, remote restoring, receive remote control backup to backup, receive remote control to restore, secure authentication, shared document management, general file transfer and information transmission.Server software features are: remote control backup, remote control restoring, secure authentication, remote control of mass restoring, DHCP service control.Client software and server software can be used alone or in conjunction with each other. Server Software operating client software by sending the command to complete the corresponding operation, and Server software restore function to achieve mass.Finally, the client software and the Symantec Ghost software performance comparison, the conclusion proves that: Br software speed local backup and remote backup is better than Ghost local backup, the speed increased 10.3%; Br software faster than Ghost software 10.1% on the local restoring; within the LAN, remote restore faster than the local restore slow Ghost 13.9 %; Br software-generated image file size than the ghost image file generated by a large 12%; BR software image file can be backed up to FAT32, NTFS, Ext2/3/4 file system; Ghost image file can only be backed up to FAT32 and NTFS file system.. Software has a simple upgrade to support hardware-wide configuration and simple operation; and has a perfectly secure network backup and restoring functionality.
