Abstract

Adaptive noise cancellation system is widely used in medical, communications, radar and other fields, for example, ECG 60Hz interference cancellation, noise cancellation in the speech signal and so on. The adaptive noise cancellation system is a typical adaptive system which has the basic properties of time-varying, self-adjusting, and is a deformation of the best filters, it includes adaptive ability, predictive ability, intelligence ability and other features. The applicaton of adaptive noise cancellation technology in the military is radar adaptive sidelobe cancellation(ASLC). ASLC use one or more auxiliary antennas, these antennas have low gain, and constitute a cancellation system to cancel the active jamming which would seriously interfere radar’s reception of weak signals in radar’s antenna mainlobe direction. The adaptive algorithm in ASLC is complexited, and the computational complexity of the traditional algorithm for engineering realization is high, so the engineering realization for ASLC is a research focus in recent years.Firstly, this paper briefly introduced the researchs of adaptive noise systems and adaptive sidelobe cancellation system at home and abroad. At the same time, this article analyses the basic principle of adaptive signal processing, and redesigned a new adaptive sidelobe cancellation algorithm, which is easier to achieve based on DSP. This new adaptive sidelobe cancellation algorithm can effectively reduce the operation number of complex multiplication and addition(CMAD), and improve the system’s performances of real-time and availability. Finally, based on ADI corporation’s ADSP-TS201S digital signal processor and VisualDSP++5.0 integrated development environment, the simulation results for this new algorithm of adaptive sidelobe cancellation indicated that the design of the radar adaptive sidelobe cancellation system in this paper met the design requirements, and had the value of engineering applications.
