Abstract

With the rapid development of wireless communication, wireless video communication quality requirements are increasing, how to deliver high-quality video services to become the focus of the new generation of mobile communication. Meanwhile, due to the wireless network has dynamic heterogeneity, higher bit error rate, transmission bandwidth fluctuations unpredictable, highly compressed video stream very sensitive to transmission errors, which are facing great challenges for wireless video transmission . So far, the traditional communication system hierarchy (OSI standards stratification) can be well applied to the wired network and achieved great success. This hierarchy greatly simplifies the complexity of system design, has a strong robustness. However, the lack of flexibility in this strict division-level network structure, can not be applied with flexibility in the performance by channel fading dramatic impact of wireless mobile channel. Therefore, in order to better adapt to the wireless channel change, researchers have proposed the idea of ??cross-layer feedback design, at the the research network layers performance optimization at the same time, more attention to the physical layer, data link layer or the network layer and the upper layer of mutual coordination between network performance, to take full advantage of the dependencies between the various protocol layers and layers of the work is coordinated through the transmission of information between the layers, the joint optimization of system resources, and improve system performance. H.264/AVC video standard is chosen as the object of study, combined with this idea of ??cross-layer feedback to improve the application-layer video coding algorithm, so that it can be adaptive wireless transmission channel, thereby improving the quality of the wireless video transmission. In order to improve the capacity of the compressed video stream in the wireless channel fault-tolerant first combined with a widely used in current wireless communication systems, adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) technology and automatic retransmission request (ARQ) technology, presents a new The feedback adaptive coding scheme based on cross-layer physical layer (PHY) - the application layer (APP). Using coding scheme is proposed in this paper, the application layer can take advantage of the underlying feedback perceived channel change and adjust the the code control strategies to improve the robustness of video transmission. Experimental results show that the comparison does not take advantage of cross-layer feedback, cross-layer coding scheme proposed in this paper is to provide a higher average video PSNR value also improved the subjective quality of the video. PHY-APP single level on the basis of cross-layer feedback to do further research, feedback information by adding the data link layer, reference picture selection (RPS) guide the application layer sender encoding mechanism, the formation of a multi-stage Cross-layer feedback adaptive source coding systems. The system in a cross-layer feedback for sensing the channel variations, and the two cross-layer feedback for reducing the channel packet loss resulting from the loss of video quality. The experimental results show that the proposed multi-level feedback scheme compared to the single-stage cross-layer feedback program to further improve the quality of video transmission. Finally, cell switch for wireless network possible solutions based on cross-layer feedback severe sudden loss of this situation. Cell switching from the physical layer channel signal-to-noise ratio threshold, this threshold is passed to the application layer to adjust the sending end of the reference frame selection mechanism, the experimental results show that this method can effectively handle high packet loss rate, because the district can become The switch led to a sharp decline in the problem of the quality of video transmission solutions.
