Abstract


With the fast development of the society and economy, the urban aging situationis becoming increasingly severe. The function of the family parentssupportinghasbeen weakened, and the resources are insufficient. The traditional patterns of familyparentssupporting,which face many challenges, can’t solve the problem ofparentssupportingfundamentally. It is difficult for the Chinese government andsociety to settle all the problems related to parentssupporting,since China is not ingood preparations for the challenge of aging of population. Besides, the parentssupportingis influenced by such factors as concepts, culture and funding, whichmake it difficult to meet the demand of the aged. Under such circumstances, thesocialization of parentssupportinghas become a main trend. It is inevitable to transfer,to substitute and to expand the function of parentssupportingbetween the family andsociety.The householdsupportingfor the aged, which combines family and societytogether, is different from the traditional one. It is a socialized pattern of support tothe aged, with old people’s demand of family as the precondition and the oldagepension as the foundation. It is supported by the community service, with old people’sfamily as the core. Therefore, the aged people can stay with their families and in thecommunities. The pattern of householdsupportingwill become a main method formost old people on the basis of the national conditions and the concept of old people.This text studies the existing problems of householdsupportingfor the aged andexplains the realistic benefits in detail by using of such relevant theories as SocialSecurity, Sociology, Senior Citizen Sociology and Public Management, and suchmethods as comparative analysis, investigating analysis and documents analysis.Concerning with the reality in Tianjin, this text systematically proposes the conceptand advices for householdsupporting.It stresses that the householdsupportingpattern should follow the principle of“government leadership, society participation,network service and nonprofitorganization operation”. It strengthens theconstruction of community householdsupportingsystem and safe service system forthe old people, which will constantly improve the life quality of the old people. Thepurposes of householdsupportingare as follows: to change the objects of servicefrom unitary to diversified? to change the way of service from passive to active? tochange the standard of service from disordered to ordered? to change the act of servicefrom shorttermto longterm.
