Abstract


With the coming of knowledge economy and information age, economic development of our country needs more and more labor who has professional knowledge, individual needs to receive continuous education to adapt to the changes of work, to catch up with the pace of the age. Although school providing general education has made tremendous contribution to the population quality of our country, the overwhelming majority of its objects are school age population, but the knowledge received in school providing general education of the population over school age can’t meet the needs of society. Further more adult education is the continuous education pattern to make up the deficiencies of school providing general education, it is also a part of permanent education system.This article use the data from 1990 to 2005 to analyze the effect of adult education to population quality in both portrait and transy point of view, analyze current situation of adult higher education at the same time. The results of the analysis indicate that adult education made an important contribution to the population quality enhancement of our country, especially to the enhancement of the women’s cultural quality, it also enhanced the performance capacity of occupied population. But adult education can’t satisfy the wants of the development of our modern economic. The quality of our labor force is on the low side, lacking high-level talented person, that can’t fit the increase and upgrade of industry closely. The growth tempo of adult education is slow ,its enroll range is limited to school age population,the more young ,the more amount of adult students. Adult education has not widely launched. As every trade raised the request of school record, the growth speed of adult college is lower than adult university’s. The adult education development of the east part、middle part、west part is not balance. The population quality of the west part needs increase urgently. The education of the aged population in our country also exist the phenomenon of region development imbalance, and there are so little aged people receive adult education.
