Abstract


The context of globalization of the knowledge economy , of science and technology , higher education and science and technology, economic integration, the trend is increasingly evident , a world-class university has important practical significance for our innovative national construction and economic and social development . Building a world-class disciplines to create a first-class university , world-class university must have a world-class level of discipline . Not many research disciplines at the University of the level of development of the worldwide international comparison reveals the level of our university disciplines , as well as the gap between the various disciplines of world-class universities , our government and universities must face the problem , has important the practical and theoretical value . Paper Output discipline is an important manifestation of the discipline level . 80 years since the 20th century , bibliometric methods for its objectivity and efficiency is widely used in academic evaluation , this study intends to adopt the bibliometric indicators analysis and interpretation of the level of development and international status of our discipline . This study discusses the fact that the practical significance of building a world-class disciplines and bibliometric methods are widely used in the subject evaluation , disciplinary evaluation bibliometric indicators universities worldwide , further analysis reveals China's major the significance of the development status of the discipline , and the gap between the world-class level . Specifically , the study on the basis of the collection and collation of more than 1,200 universities worldwide published international papers data , using the the the two bibliometric indicators - the total number of papers , and Q1 papers proportion ( based on the journal impact factor derived ) World University in evaluate the performance of the 13 disciplines of mathematics, physics , mechanical engineering , economics , and national level and university level academic performance , world-class disciplines for the selection of the various countries and universities , but also reveals further from the disciplinary perspective of each advantage of national and school discipline , showing the world and the world University class disciplines maps . Finally, a number of policy recommendations for building a world-class disciplines .
