Abstract


The effective management of software process is a practical way to solve the software crisis, and Software Project Tracking and Management(SPTM) is very important and pivotal to raise the management of software process. The software process models, as CMM/CMMI, are used to instruct the management of software process widely, but they are conceptual models which only provide the directed principles with which the software process can be improved, not related to the realization, and also short of maneuverability. Therefore, studying how to operate the tracking and management of project concretely in software enterprises is very meaningfulThis dissertation describes my research on the SPTM, which includes the following points:1、Based on the CMMI theory, measurement model and measurement technology methods, we carried out thorough investigation and discussion to the methods of the Software Project Tracking and Management to provide effective directions and help for the implement of software process in enterprises, to guarantee the quality of software product and improve the software process ability.2、In this dissertation, I explained and compared the main tracking methods of schedule and cost of software project. The basic principle of the Earned Value Method ( EVM ) is systematically described, which includes establishing work breakdown structure, estimating task property and executing project tracking. Finally, the application process of the earned value method is illustrated with an application case. This improves the method effective.3、According to the study above, I designed the Process Management System SPTM with java language on the J2EE platform, which is based on B/S model. This prototype system implements macroscopically management of software project, and it’s the base for the automation of the SPTM process.
