Abstract


As the increasing of the market competition and the rapid development of air transport industry, all the airlines are faced with huge pressure. For the purpose of cutting down the cost and raising the revenue, all of them optimize the distribution of resource. Many companies, including Air China, China Southern, China Eastern and Hainan Airlines, adjust the network structure and set up the operation base actively in order to improve the benefit and competition.Flight schedule is the basic point of marketing, flight, service in the airlines. Flight schedule simulation research means a method which can obtain the operating results of the indicators through the digital simulation of plans which are already scheduled. After the research about current network structure of the aviation industry’s development trend, combined with the status that Chinese airlines are building a network structure, the paper choose the issue of "flight schedule simulation and optimization". Through a large number of airlines operating flights data analysis, I choose passenger load factor and available seat-kilometers yield as the main parameters and get the method to estimate the variable cost, fixed cost and period cost. I establish a model of flight schedule to calculate the income, cost and profits. Then I give some advices to the optimization of flight schedule based on the simulated results and analyzed the data of China Eastern Airlines.The paper will provide a reference to all the Chinese Airlines about how to optimize flight schedule, reasonable arrange for transportation resources, reduce costs and improve earnings.
