Abstract

With the development of WLAN technology, the extensive use of equipment and the increasing demand of the service which WLAN can supplies, a lot of problems that don’t appear in the original WLAN have emerged, such as serious competition for radio spectrum resources, increasing mutual interference and the load imbalance etc., which led to lower network throughput. As one of the hotspots of the wireless areas, research institutes, academic institutions and commercial companies raised many valuable solutions for the WLAN, but they have their own additional conditions and can not be universal .In this paper, the issue how to reduce co-channel interference in the network has been analyzed deeply. The signal propagation is described effectively by improving attenuation model suiting for the indoor environment and applied in the software module of the CWNMS system. Meanwhile, about how to adjust AP power by optimizing the network signal coverage problems, a power adjustment for the optimization of network throughput has been proposed after a detailed analysis and simulation has been finished. The contributions of this thesis are as followed:(1) We propose a location related centralized channel assignment algorithm for wireless network interference causes and characteristics. After the planning of the channel configuration, compared with the traditional algorithm LCCS, the performance increases about 6%.(2) We propose a power control algorithm based on the interference detection can not only solve the co-channel interference between AP, and also the network topology adjustment for the AP deployment changes for the AP’s coverage of the relationship between power and signal.(3) Design and implementation of channel planning module and channel assessment module in CWNMS system. CWNMS system can not only plan an initial channel configuration for wireless network, can also evaluate currently channel conditions and performance which running in the network. Additionally you can provide users with optimized solutions. The research work has been supported by the project "campus teaching network". It is believed that our work will promote the development of channel allocation and power control research of WLAN.
