Abstract

In an era of the twenty-first century, Chinese prosperous economy and enhanced living standards promote peoples’s desire to beautify the urban environment. Under the government’s relevant planning policy, the design of urban landmark landscape architecture develops rapidly in many cities in China, its constructive form and content are also showing a picture of diversity. However, in this unprecedented active period, there have been many blind approaches such as blindly imitating western style, which overlook or even abandon the construction of the human environment, leading to the convergence of urban space environment and the lack of city image characteristics. The mere superficial imitation detaches inherent ideological and historical environment of the city and even destroy the city’s original history and culture As a result, landmark landscape architecture can not harmonize with its urban context environment, so it loses its cultural connotation and iconic city image characteristics. Due to these negative impact, how to design the marking landscape architecture in modern city based on reasonable protection and utilization of urban context is of vital significance.From angle of urban context inheritance, the paper conducts the in-depth and multi-angle research to the design method of the marking landscape architecture in modern cities. The full text is divided into six chapters: The first chapter elaborates the subject’s realistic background, the academic background, the research content, the method, the related concept, as well as the related research literature summaries at home and abroad, points out the practical significance and the importance of the topic. The second chapter analyzes the formation, the characteristic, the historical evolution, and the present development in China. From the humanistic and historical environment, the local natural ecological environment and the urban space-time context environment, the third chapter analyzes the influences of the urban context on its landscape architecture design, and further proves the significant correlation between the marking landscape architecture and the urban context. Taking Shanghai as the example, the fourth chapter analyzes the development of Shanghai context and the architectural context, and further proves the importance of urban context in the creation of urban marking landscape architecture. On the basis of the above content, the fifth chapter analyzes the inheritance manner of the urban context in designing the marking landscape architecture and the principle of designing the marking landscape architecture. Unifying the typical marking landscape architecture at home and abroad, it also proves the methods of the with-time and period-time urban context inheritance in the design of urban marking landscape architecture, which reveals creative expression of the cultural inheritance and modem urban landmark landscape architecture and its inevtiable trend of diversification. The sixth chapter forecasts the significance of designing urban marking landscape architecture in the construction of today’s city image and discusses its scientific continuing developed principle. It sums up the research and shows the development direction of urban marking landscape architecture.Absorbing the previous academic achievements, the paper attempts to study the important role and significance of urban context heritance in the modern urban marking landscape architecture. It also tries to find some local-featured creative methods and points out the direction for designing urban marking landscape architecture, which will promote the formation of city image and development of urban- image construction..
