Abstract


Globalization has created a high degree of interdependence among countries. national image is no longer just a moral concept, it increasingly includes the meaning of power and becomes way to achieve national interests. Optimizing national image has a special meaning during the China’s peaceful rise. During the last three decades, China’s development achievements have attracted worldwide attention. People wonder of "China Speed", but also have doubts that impact the rising of great powers will bring to the existing world situation, Western society is clamoring for a "China threat", "China collapse", so it appears that China’s image, "was constructed" in our silence. China’s misreading of the international community reflects that differences in national interests, ideology break but also reflects China’ mistakes in building their own image. In recent years China’s image building does not keep up with the pace of national development, which affects China’s participation in international affairs. So we need to optimize the image of China as a strategy, to China, a good national image, can reduce impact on the existing power structure which was caused by China’s rapid growth, to eliminate some misunderstandings and suspicions of the China’s development strategy. Good national image can effectively express China’s peaceful development strategy to the world, and timely display of China’s good will to actively integrate into the world and her global responsibility, thus earning himself peace.Good national image can greatly promote China’s participation in international political, economic and security affairs, and China’s peaceful rise will help her get economic benefits. Optimization of China’s soft power diplomacy and constructed China’s own image which is also responsive for the international community mainstream media, which is the key to recognizing and accepting has China’s peaceful rise by international community. This discussion is also just around these issues, as follows:The first part describes the main topics of the reason and meaning, status, and domestic and foreign research papers innovations. This paper argues that despite the national image research has attracted the attention of a number of scholars, compared with foreign research on related topics, domestic research is still at an initial stage, the theory is relatively weak, research of national image is also more concentrated on times that from new China to set up to reform and opening up, these theories can no longer meet the current new situation, China is taking the road of peaceful rise,which also need to establish a new image in the international community. This article of the innovations is that combing strategy of optimizing national image with the current conception of China’s peaceful rise.The second part of the main interpretation of the theoretical framework of the national image, is divided into two sections, sectionⅠexplain in detail the meaning of national image,SectionⅡdescribes the national image of the four characteristics, namely, objectivity, subjectivity, stability, dynamic.The third part from the "peaceful rise is China’s strategic choice to grow a big country," this perspective, which seeks to clarify the need for the road of peaceful development.The fourth part of the national image from China’s current need to optimize,from this perspective, writer illustrates the need to optimize the country’s image. Mainly includes two parts, one of the plight of Chinese government to optimize the national image in rise process, the other is a good national image can help China won the friendly international atmosphere in rise process, also access to a variety of economic interests.Part Vis mainly discussed that from the context of peaceful rise, China need to rebuild national image and also need re-start the optimization approach.
