Abstract


This paper by means of reading the Animations from all around the world, which made by famous Animation Directors, and by combining the classic film and drama theories and Movie making practices together, to quest the animation director′s thinking mode and the feature of their animation creation. At first, based on the research and study of predecessors, in the first chapter, it gives“Animation Director”a comparatively clear definition, and makes clear to us the status and responsibility of Animation Director in the course of making animation. And then, in the second chapter, this paper proposes that in the course of making animation, Animation Director plays three roles: creator, leader and listener, which to supplement each other.The next, in the third chapter, this paper it uses the contract method and cases analyzing method to elaborate the same points and the differences between Animation Director and Movie Director, between Art Animation and Business Animation. In this course, it also pays attention to the subtle connection between them. Relying on classic movie theory, it quests for the reason for the charm of classic Animations. From an individual angle, it illuminates an Animation Director need have what inner quality in an intuitive way, and to search for the rules of Animation art originality.At last, in the fourth chapter, this paper analyzes Animation Director′s social responsibilities, and arranges the social responsibilities under three main heads: to reveal the real world, to pass on the value judgment, and to creates the aesthetic experiences. By analyzing the social duty of Animation Director, this paper would to take notion of the cultural and surviving state of this particular colony. It also takes notion of their pursuits of value, the collision and breaking-in of Art and Business, as well as the contradiction and the predicament that they faced together. This colony should be put into the big period background to observe. We could scan the cultural phenomenon, and give cultural criticism from sense and spacious view.In general, this paper makes clear of the working mode and the particular thought characteristics of Animation Directors, which to form a special artistic creation colony. This paper by means of reading the Animations from all around the world, which made by famous Animation Directors, and by combining the classic film and drama theories and Movie making practices together, to quest the animation director′s thinking mode and the feature of their animation creation. The aim of this paper is to search for the rules of Animation art originality, to supply a clear guide for Animation making, and make some theory build, which would lead the society to pay close attention.At the same time, this paper also refers to some practical questions in Animation creation, such as: how to make transformation between Movie thought and Animation thought, and how to make choice between Art and Business and keep balance between them. In certain degree, it pays equal attention to the theory meaning and reality meaning, has a certain Social value.
