In the Modern Chinese word classification system, tone words are expletive, particularly they don’t have any meaning, but tone words express speaker’s mood, attitude; they do play an important, significant role in the language. The proper using of tone words enriches our everyday oral language.In this paper we analyze the tone word "Ha" of modern Chinese language, analyze is based on fundamental research. After reading a large number of bibliographies, we found out that there is not enough information about tone word "Ha". The tone word "Ha" was first time mentioned in the article of Yin Shichao. However, we found that the author only descript the tone meaning of word "Ha" but did not research the specific and systematic classification and didn’t say about functions of tone word "Ha". There are several more articles about "Ha" as a Tone Word, but all of them just analyzed tone word "Ha" as a high-frequency word of the regional dialects, and a lot of analysis still remained the study methods of using it. Therefore, on the basis of our fundamental research, we carry out more detailed analysis and refinement, and replace the "Ha" repeatedly in the different sentences. Through the detailed studying and analysis of the Tone Word "Ha", hope that we will add new information, fulfill and improve the Tone system of the modern Chinese language.As an atypical Tone Word, first was used in the northeast dialect of China, as well as dialects spoken in the Sichuan region. Later, spoken everyday by common people, tone words have become widespread in the modern Mandarin. We has been collected the corpus from the dialects of the different regions, including the northeast, north, south-west (mainly in Sichuan, Chongqing area) and Guangxi, and the materials from the Modern Chinese corpus of Chinese Linguistics Research Center of Beijing University, the film and television works. They were classified according to different syntactic classification; also according to the different types and locations in the sentences, we do the deep semantic analysis to "Ha". Finally, and the most important we analyze its pragmatic functions.During the 20 century, 20–ties,the United States scientists (linguists) made a theory, which nowadays had a great influence for generations. By using the theory of American scientists, first, we analyze the "Ha" by different locations in the words, then we study the different sentences with tone word "Ha", after observe using from grammatical aspect. After deep research and studying, we came to conclusion that the Tone Word "Ha" at the end of the sentence can express the question also imperative mood, and be located the mid of the sentence, expressing the full stop.Analyzing the meaning of tone word "Ha", we used for references " the smallest grammatical difference " and "the sum up of grammars’general characteristics". In general, we obtain six grammatical meaning of tone word "Ha". Then, using " the sum up of grammars’general characteristics" we have research the six meaning, which were "asked", "interrogate", "to remind / advise".Studying functions of tone word ha, we consider both sides– condition and functions of using it in the spoken language.Firstly , condition of using tone word ha, according to inter subjective relationships of communication we studied using of element "Ha" in different sentences. After analysis, we have found that tone word "Ha" is used in the coordinate relationships, and it is becoming more and more widespread. Secondly, from the functions of using tone word "Ha", from full stop, analyzing tone word "Ha" extent just tree points pointing out topic of conversation and degree of question.The full stop expresses– requirement, a type of form, meaning. During the process of communication, because of psychological stress, lack of preparation, or just the habit the speaker often use the word which indicates short-time pause or full stop, it is named " tried to fob off the phrase". "Ha" is the word that filled the voice blank in the pause position and makes the sentence and whole commutation smoother.Chamsky has said to express the semantics sentence should be divided into two parts, the focus and the default. When "Ha" as a symbol word appears in the middle of the sentence, it will indicate the focus part and non-focus part, and then separate the topic.And final, the atypical Tone Word "Ha" in modern Chinese can be found in the whole language system. According to the analysis of charter 3.2, we can see that, the use of tone word "Ha" replace "Ma", "Ba" in the questions.In this paper, we research the Tone Word "Ha" more comprehensive, systematic, and dynamic from the syntactic form, meaning and pragmatic function from three points of view. The issue that modern Chinese Mandarin Tone Word is used more and more widely, no doubt, it will fulfill empty Tone Word’s area.However, this work (theme) still should be reaching with more efforts, discussions and conclusions.
