Abstract


Equal opportunity of education, which consists of equal opportunities to education access, equal opportunities to education process and equal opportunities to education result, is the core of the education equity and a reflection of social equality. Equal opportunity of education in the stage of compulsory education is always the subject of a democratic society and the important principle of formulating education laws and regulations in our country. Recently, the growing problem of unequal opportunity of education raises doubts about equality. As a result, equal opportunity of compulsory education has become the national and social focus of education equity.This paper shows a representative example of two schools in Wujiang city and analyzes the influencing factors of equal opportunity of compulsory education from four aspects—the fathers’social class, the teaching behavior, the allocation of educational resources and social culture, through the use of observation, questionnaires and interviews. It also analyzes the reasons for impact. Besides, it recommends promoting equal opportunities and the development of education from four aspects—the changes in the concept of education policy, the promotion of social mobility, the establishment of the concept of inclusive education, the improvement of the allocation of financial resources for compulsory education.
