China's rural residents' consumption and economic growth in the relationship between research

Abstract

Currently, the population in rural area accounts for 55.06% of the whole nation population in our country. The lack of the rural resident consumption demand is the main cause that leads to the insufficiency of the resident consumption, while it is one of the effective approaches to expand the domestic demand that paying great importance to and increasingly promoting the development of the rural resident consumption demand. Meanwhile, it comes to the conclusion that the economic growth and the demand of the rural resident consumption are interacted, which is to say that the former one restricts the latter one while the latter one is the strong engine of the former one that plays an unusual role to fuel the economic growth by observing the practice of the economy swings in our country for many years and analyzing the relation between the economic growth and the Chinese rural resident consumption theoretically and empirically.Therefore, it’s of great significance that starting the rural consumption market, cultivating the rural consumption market to the new consumption growth spot and promoting the rural resident consumption demand to increase steadily which is not only the key to guide our current consumption to grow rapidly but also the basic security for our national economy developing continually, stability, healthily in the future. Currently, there are series of factors that restrict the demand of the rural resident consumption. The paper has analyzed these factors which are income level, the income difference and the consumption environment, even more put forward proposals and suggestions to expand the rural resident consumption demand in China.This paper is divided into five chapters as follow:The first chapter is the preface. It mainly explains the background and the significance of the topic, the new research at home and abroad, the research method, the main problem, and the main innovation points of this paper.The second chapter is about the current situation of the Chinese rural resident consumption. It has mainly analyzed the current status and the fundamental trend of the rural resident consumption demand. In the present stage, the consumption level of the rural resident in our country has improved continuously, the pattern of the consumption has got the continuous improvement, and the consumption quality has improved step by step. But compared to the city and abroad, the consumption level of the rural resident is still low, the consumption rate is also low and has the trend of going down, the consumption scale is small, the increasing speed of the consumption is slow, the consumption quality is not high, the gap between the city and the countryside and the area gap are outstanding comparatively. Taking into account all the features above, we know that the rural area is a potential and gigantic consumption market. Therefore, promoting our rural resident consumption level to rise will lead the total material consumption to increase a lot, also promote forcefully our national economy to develop sustainably.The third chapter is the theory frame of the relation between the Chinese rural resident consumption and the economic growth. It has theoretically analyzed the relation of the interaction between them.The fourth chapter is the empirical analysis of the relation between the Chinese rural resident consumption and the economic growth. Through analyzing the effect, the contribution and the pulling effect of the Chinese rural resident consumption to the economic growth, it has reached the point that the Chinese rural resident consumption has the positive pulling effect to the economic growth but not sufficient. We ought to raise the consumption level of the Chinese rural resident energetically; and then we could figure out that the economic growth can promote the level of the Chinese rural resident consumption by analyzing the effect of the economic growth to the Chinese rural resident consumption.The fifth chapter argued the analysis in the impacts of inside factors such as the rural resident income level, the income gap and external factors such as the consuming environment, the supplying structure of commodity over the rural resident consumption demand in our country. Among all mentioned above, the low rural resident income level and the slow growth rate are the major factors restricting the rural resident consumption demand. According to the both inside and outside factors above, it has put forward the proposals and suggestions to expand rural resident consumption.
