Abstract


Tire noise is one of the main compositions of the vehicle pass by noise, and contributes much to the total vehicle noise. The first step to study tire noise is to measure it. In order to get accordant and comparable results, an effective measuring method needed to be set up.In general condition, the drum method, vehicle method, and trailer method are the typical measuring methods for tire noise. One of the weaknesses of the drum method is the different of the road surfaces. The weakness of the vehicle method is the difficulty of complete removal of the vehicle influences, The trailer method can solve these difficulties by using the same unified trailer. The main topic of this dissertation focuses on the trailer method.At the beginning of this paper, comparison of the different measuring methods of the tire noise are made, the element and equipment of the trailer test are introduced following. In the middle of the paper, it’s mainly about the tire noise test trailer according to the existing international standard, the measuring process, and the post procedure of the test results data. At the end of the paper, pertinence of the results of different test methods is studied.In the finality, the problems requiring further studies are discussed.
