Abstract


OBJECTIVE:1.To investigate serum levels of VEGF and IGF-1 in the patients with prostatic cancer.To make sure the relationship between VEGF、IGF-1 and tumor pathological grade and clinical stage.2.To investigate the relationship between serum levels of PSA and VEGF、IGF-1 in the patients with prostatic cancer.METHODS: ABC-ELISA method was used to examine the serum levels of VEGF、IGF-1、PSA in 45 cases of Prostatic cancer and 32 cases of benign prostatic hyperplasia as control.RESULTS:1.Level of serum VEGF in the patients with prostatic cancer was significantly higher than that of benign prostatic hyperplasia.With prostate cancer tumor stage increasing and lymphatic metastasis serum level of VEGF are also increased.2. Level of serum IGF-1 in the patients with prostatic cancer was significantly higher than that of benign prostatic hyperplasia. With prostate cancer pathology grade and clinical stage increasing serum level of IGF-1 are also increased.3. Level of serum PSA in the patients with prostatic cancer was positively relation with IGF-1 and VEGF.CONCLUSION: 1. Level of serum IGF-1 in the patients with prostatic cancer was correlated with clinical stage and pathology grade. Level of serum VEGF in the patients with prostatic cancer was correlated with lymphatic metastasis and clinical stage.2. Levels of serum IGF-1 and VEGF in the patients with prostatic cancer have a certain clinical significance to predict potential malignant of prostate cancer and select advanced tumors.3. Level of serum PSA in the patients with prostatic cancer was positively relation with IGF-1 and VEGF.It may increase the specificity of the preoperative diagnosis by detecting their serum levels.
