Abstract

The background cell cycle regulatory proteins (cyclin) family is a group of proteins that regulate the cell cycle plays a very important role in regulating cell division period. A growing number of studies have shown that the family with cell proliferation, hypertrophy and apoptosis have a close relationship. Cyclin I gene cloning was originally derived from a cDNA library of the human brain frontal cortex, located on chromosome 4q21.22, the amino acid sequence of the high conservation of the cyclin box, is included in the cyclin family. The gene family members cyclin G1 and cyclin G2 structure highly similar, so people think they may be the same. Cyclin I primarily in the organization with well-differentiated cells, such as skeletal muscle, heart, brain, etc. in the expression, and the expression in the cell division cycle does not render fluctuated. Cyclin I gene reported in recent years gradually increased biological effects in various tissues of the body, it is not yet fully understood. So far, previous studies showed that the gene is mainly involved in spermatogenesis and acrosome reaction of the anti-apoptotic and tumor angiogenesis. A study of our group in the early \level downregulated, suggesting that it may play a role in prostate. Therefore, it is necessary to further study the expression of the gene for the protein levels hyperplasia and prostate tissue and to explore its possible meanings. Objective of cyclin Ⅰ in different prostate tissue (normal prostate tissue, benign prostatic hyperplasia and prostate cancer tissue) protein level, and to explore its possible significance. Methods Immunohistochemical two-step detection normal prostate tissue microarray, Cyclin protein I expression in human prostatic hyperplasia and prostate cancer. Results of tissue microarray immunohistochemistry results suggest that cyclin Ⅰ in normal prostate tissue, benign prostatic hyperplasia and prostate cancer tissue between the level of protein expression difference was statistically significant (P = 0.000), prostate cancer tissue than in normal prostate tissue (P <0.05) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (P <0.05) decreased expression; between the expression levels in normal prostate tissue and benign prostatic hyperplasia difference was not statistically significant (P> 0.05); prostate cancer Ⅱ, Ⅱ grade to grade III and III level between the expression level of the difference was not statistically significant (P = 0.101). Conclusion This study using tissue microarray immunohistochemistry method further confirmed in the prostate tissue, cell cycle protein cyclin I expression at the protein level. The gene in the prostate may have biological effects of anti-apoptosis and promote tumor progression requires further in-depth study.
