Abstract


Along with the accelerating pace of industrialization and urbanization in China’s western region, the problem of Urban-rural dual structure is more prominent. The root is that the agricultural production mode in most western regions is still in tradition. And, in such conditions, the western region’s agricultural industrial advantages have not brought into full play. Prompting the transformation from traditional agriculture to modem agriculture and building a competitive modern agriculture industry system is an inevitable choice in the western region.The modern agriculture is different from traditional agriculture. It is based on the modern industry and science technology. Also it pays more concern on related fields in the second and the third industries, such as manufacturing, processing, preservation, storage, transport, commercial service, information industry. It is an agricultural integrated system associated with the chain of pre-agriculture, agriculture, post-agriculture and the dynamic integration of agro-industry and trade.The study of constructing the modern agriculture industry system in western region should based on the theory of modern agriculture industry system, the analysis of the basic condition of the agriculture industry system in west region and the developmental experience of modern agriculture industry system at home and abroad. Then we may find a suitable road of the modern agriculture for our western region. Accordingly, this paper’s main body has four parts, respectively is modern agriculture industry system, the status of modern agriculture industry in western region, the learning experience of modern agricultural industry system at home and abroad, the constructing of modern agriculture industry system in western region.First, this article attempts to put forward to the definition of modern agriculture industry system based on other scholars’opinion. For the more thorough understanding of modern agriculture industry system, this paper takes different perspectives, such as the allocation of kinds of resources, market demand, industrial organization, related industries , of the characteristics of modern agriculture industry system. This provides solid theoretical foundation for the analysis of the status quo of modern agriculture industry in western region.Secondly, this paper respectively analyzes the conditions of modern agriculture industry in western region from several aspects, namely agricultural production factors, the status of agricultural industrialization, the agricultural structure and agricultural service system. In combination with detailed data, specific features of agriculture industry in western region will be embodied, and then we may find out the western region’s comparative advantage, relative to other regions, in constructing of modern agriculture industry system.Finally, this paper put forward suggestion which is suitable for the developmental characteristics in western region at the condition of taking the advantage of the resource of western region and learning the experience in building the modern agricultural industrial system from foreign and domestic. Suggestions are as followed: (1) Take special agricultural industry as a leading industry and build distinctive agricultural undertakings; (2) Increase the investment on agricultural infrastructure and science and technology; (3) Increase the input on training of agricultural workforce and improve the labor force’s quality; (4) Try kinds of innovation of industrialized management of agriculture and deepen the agricultural industrialization level; (5)Take positive adjustment of agricultural structure and prompt the level of rationalization of industrial structure and industrial structure supererogation; (6) build the modern agriculture industry service system vigorously in western region.
