Abstract


This paper has listed the theory achievements systematically on the study of relationship between International Trade and International Investment in domestic and abroad. The article choose complementary theory public by K.Kojima as theoretical foundation, focusing on Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta two biggest economic cycle spots, analyzes the relationship between FDI and export trade, further more, the effects on export trade structure optimization by FDI.Adopting the method of theory analyze and empirical research, using the data from 30 years’ development, the paper compares the evolution process and develops status of Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta to find out the points in common and the differences, to quarry each other’s advantages, using regression analyze to acquire the elasticity of FDI on total export increase. Then this paper makes a systematic, comparable and deep-going study on the relationship of FDI and export trade structures of two places. According to SITC defines the export products into primary products and manufactured products. Then divides manufactured products into two segments:resource&labor-intensive products and capital&technology-intensive products.What’s more this paper selects mechanical and electrical products and high-tech products as typical capital&technology-intensive products for detail research. This paper analyzes domestic effects of FDI on improving export trade structure both in the level of those three specific aspects. Finally the paper draws conclusions on researches has been done on Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta, put out some realistic policy suggestions in light of existing problems of FDI in export trade structures’improving.
