Abstract


The USA has the most developed higher education as well as the most advanced agricultural technology in the world.However,it was wasteland around 200 years ago.It followed the European higher education model,and the way to cultivate was also original at that time.To a large extent,the miracle leap benefited from the Land-grant colleges and the Agricultural Education Research Extension System,which were established according to the Morrill Land-grant College Act of 1862 and a series of related laws.This system has the function of agricultural education,research and extension.It promotes the democratic process of American higher education,establishes the third duty of modern university-service,and promotes American agricultural development.Today,China is at the new stage of reform and development and facing the hard task of constructing the new socialistic country.To enhance the agricultural change rate and cultivate new peasants is the key to solve the problem of the agriculture,village and peasants in our country.We are trying to establish the system which is suitable for our country.But it is not ideal for many reasons.So it is necessary to use for the advanced experience from the USA.The historic method,the inductive method and comparative method is used in this paper,to analyze the mechanism of the system,and sum up the successful experience,in order that it can offer useful enlightenment.This paper consists of six sections:Section One:introduce the establishment and development of the system;Section Two:describe the background of this system;Section Three:analyze the mechanism of this system;Section Four:Sum up the effect on American higher education and agricultural development;Section Five:Tell the successful experiences,which includes:the complete laws,sufficient funds,three in one mechanism and suit measures to serve;Section Six:Compare the system in China and in the USA,find the differences and get the advantages.
