Waiting space is an important component in modern hospitals where patients and their families concentrated..AS the transitional spaces between traffic space and function space in the hospital,waiting space is also a space before patients receiving treatment and for the family members waiting for their relatives.At the same time,a very important space embodies the humane care of the hospital.Along with the rapid economic development of our country,our hospital has also entered a new period.The scale of hospital becomes larger and larger,departments are also becoming more and more completed..At the same time,the medical theory model is experiencing a process from the biomedical to the general model“biological, psychological,social”.Profound changes have taken place such as the level of people’s health,hospital facilities,medical environment,as well as the psychological needs of patients.These are important factors for the design of waiting space.Waiting space is changing from a single function to the present composite,leisure and functional.At the same time, spatial patterns of waiting space also occurred in a huge change.In this paper,based on the field survey and data Analysis of some typical waiting space,the author summarized and analyzed the inadequacies of waiting space,in the mean time,proposed new concepts and new trends for waiting space design,guide the practice by theory.In the mean time,the author analyzed actual projection the hope of providing useful information and design proposals for the design of waiting space in hospital in the future.
