Abstract


Geometric pattern is the first to enter the decorative patterns in the history. It’s the regular or irregular geometric shapes according to certain rules which based on the variety of point, line, surface configuration; and the highly abstracted, generalized patterns which based on animals, plants, totem and other objects.Folk Clothes of Han as an independent system, which has a long history and wide application area. And neoteric China is an age of turbulence, a coexistence of traditional and open. Neoteric folk clothes of Han as a typical represent of the oriental folk culture, which caused a series of regular changes greatly. The influence to the application in modern dress design and the development of the apparel industry is far-reaching, which is worth researching and exploring. Through referring to books and documents found that some experts and scholars had an extensive study on the geometric patterns, but most of them focused largely on the artifacts, including the history, structure, decoration characteristics, and some on the exploration of ethnic minority costumes. But specific research on the field of folk clothes of Han in neoteric China is not so much. Therefore, this study has a great significance.Accordingly, through literature search, picture collection, chart data summary, comprehensive induction and analysis of the geometric patterns of folk clothing on historiography, aesthetics, sociology, folklore and other subjects of knowledge. Expand the statements from geometric patterns’background, its art in our history, and summarizing the flow and characteristic of geometric patterns of folk clothing of Han in the neoteric Chinese. Based on the analysis of data, this paper used the costume which stored in the folk dress Chuanxiguan of Jiangnan University to compare the geometric pattern. According to the comparisons of the material of clothing in neoteric times, there has a detailed description of the forms, the colors, the semantics rheology and the features in this article. Combined with the historical data, explored the impact factors of the phenomenon. Through this research, the author want to sort out the venation further on geometric patterns of folk clothing of Han, and grasp its development and characteristics, which in order to better design geometric patterns with modern stylish, and point out the inspiration to modern fashion and textile design with the combination of the modern clothing industry.
