Abstract

Gabriel Urbain Fauré(1845-1924) is one of the most outstanding composers between the late of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century. Although he is not known well in our country by the people in the China, but actually has the quite high prestige in the French.In the long creative career, the art song is he most main creation domain, passes through his entire profession.The quantity of art song is most, altogether has created more than 100 songs,so he is honored as“France’s Shuman”. And, including seven vocal music divertimentos, altogether 43 songs, accounted for near half quantity. The vocal music divertimento’s creation mainly concentrates in the Mid and Late of Fauré, this time is the Fauré’s creation peak and is also his style formation time. Therefore this article take, vocal music divertimentos in the Mid and Late as the object of study, analyzes to its harmonic technique.The style of Fauré’s art song is mostly quiet, slender. His work is partial to the performance lofty love elegy, gentle lyrical piece of the language as well as the model natural scenery. The song has smooth-flowing melodic line,the sentiment contains profoundly. Harmony has the astonishing expressiveness; this is also his style important manifestation; The Fauréhas inherited predecessor’s artistic achievement, make unceasing exploration and innovation.The Faurémakes every effort to displays the performance function of color harmony in key harmonic frame, causes the harmony richer color change. The color harmony have formed personal harmony art characteristic, also has manifested high fusion of the music and the literature.This paper take Fauré’s three vocal music divertimentos in the Mid and Late as the study object, and from the chord,the harmonic progression, the mode alternate ,the key transition and the layout and so on different angle, conducts the research and the elaboration to its song accompany neutral sound technique’s utilization, thus sum up the harmony technique characteristic of Fauré’s vocal music divertimentos.
