Abstract


Foreign language teaching, there are still a significant problem is that English learners can reach verbal fluency in a second language, however, is difficult to get the concept of second language fluency, namely the lack of expression of authentic native speakers, easy produce \To fully master a foreign language, learners must also study the implication of the concept in the target language system, to overcome the phenomenon of \Conceptual Fluency this goal to achieve an important way to develop learners' metaphor awareness. Cognitive metaphor studies pointed out that the human conceptual system used to think and act, in essence, is metaphorical. The metaphor is a cognitive phenomenon, it is the result of human cognitive activities and tools. Language is the carrier of human thought and culture, and therefore implies a rich and colorful metaphor usage in the language. Metaphor in understanding and learning the target language usage help language learners depth understanding of language and understanding of various cultural phenomena in language and imagery schema, the language in order to establish the concept of the network, and the flexibility to be applied in the output language fluent truly achieve the concept of second language acquisition target. Visible, conceptual metaphor in language teaching research results will play a positive role in promoting. Metaphors on teaching has been a focus on learning language teaching metaphor, because the vocabulary is the basic unit of the language, is also a metaphor for the concept of the basic carrier. The vocabulary teaching metaphors learning has a natural bond, vocabulary teaching students the metaphor ability to introduce some of the basic concepts of metaphor research, will be beneficial to students' vocabulary learning. The main purpose of this paper is to explore feasibility of metaphorical vocabulary teaching in college English vocabulary teaching and teaching effectiveness and the empirical research. Two natural class of 95 students, the subjects of this paper non-English majors from the City College of Wuhan University of Science and Technology in the one-semester teaching experiment, the test results of the experimental and control groups were compared. The experimental results show that the teaching of English Metaphors on helping to train the learners' awareness of metaphor, metaphor comprehension ability. Conceptual metaphor system to achieve, however, to fully grasp the metaphorical way of thinking, vocabulary-building, and enhance their understanding of English vocabulary and mastery of this goal must still relevant theory constantly improve, and the tireless efforts of the long-term teachers explain and conscious input as well as students . The revelation from this study is the improvement of the ability of foreign language learners metaphor can promote the improvement of foreign language proficiency, to overcome the phenomenon of \metaphorical awareness should Metaphors on teaching traditional vocabulary teaching methods combined, thereby improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the vocabulary learning.
