Abstract


The clause of "x jiu x" is a common form in modern Chinese language, it is widely used in oral Chinese. This paper not only discusses many fields about "x jiu x" ontology, but also researches on comparation with relative form laterally and historical evolution vertically, using the static state and dynamic state methods,based on many examples collected from literary composition in modern and ancient Chinese and referencing the fruition of years of research by other scholars.The paper is totally divided into three parts in the following order: structure ontology—peripheral structure—historical evolution. The first part discusses the structure ontology, including the investigation of semantics, structure, expanding form , pragmatics and the effects of context factors on the understanding of "x jiu x". The clause of "x jiu x" is classified described in detail; The next part studies about peripheral structure, comparing with two others form of tautology; The last part discusses historical evolution of "x jiu x" according its usage in ancient Chinese language works, The preface before the text mainly define the study rang of this paper and review relative study situation. The conclusion behind the text summarize main points all of the paper.
