Abstract


The scale of computer network has become increasingly large and complicated nowadays. An emerging problem is how to guarantee the reliability, safety and efficiency of the network devices. A good network management system can manage manifold network devices, shield difference of network resources and improve efficiency on network management.SNMP technology and J2EE development model can be a good solution to this problem. Actually, SNMP has become the standard of network management, the application of SNMP can shield difference of network. On this basis, this thesis, which based on the J2EE platform, puts forward a kind of new distributed network management system model which has a multi-layer structure, it can reduce the complexity of refractivity of network management.The thesis analyzes SMI and MIB, focuses on OID tree structure of MIB and the ways to manage the exchange equipment of MIB through AdventNet SNMP API, which can be packed to Session Bean successfully and accomplish reading and update to the exchange equipment of MIB. EIS, which adopt My SQL RDBMS, can accomplish the reading and update of RDBMS through the design of Entity Bean. In the design process of the system, the Entity Bean perform the function of data representation, Session Bean perform the function of business logics of system, the combination of the two functions accomplish the function of business level. The design of Presentation Layer apply page flow technology to conduct the work flow control about JSP page, which can isolate Business Layer and Web layer successfully.This thesis discusses network management system, which can be divided into two main function modules, namely, switch port management and switch VLAN management. Switch port management can perform the functions of port state display, port state changes, port rate settings, port flow control, etc. The management of VLAN switch can perform the functions of enquiry of VLAN configuration information, creation of VLAN, and amendment and deletion of VLAN.
