Abstract


With the development of Data Warehouse theory and technology, an increasing number of enterprises build Data Warehouse systems. The establishment of these systems integrate the company’s historical data to provide a basis for decision-making, but along with the developing of enterprise and the widely use of Data Warehouse, the shortcomings of traditional Data Warehouse have begun to appear, the enterprise IT systems are overstaffed, company’s operating costs are getting higher and higher because of IT systems’ duplicate construction, enterprise’s IT system building has become a nightmare for the enterprise.Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) package enterprise’s application as a service form, it is a subject that is not only concerned by today’s IT sector, but also a development trend in the future. SOA has the characteristics of loosely coupled, independent of platforms, legacy systems integration, business process promotion, which can solve the problems coursed by enterprise’s IT construction as these mentioned above.A study has been made on the conception and techniques of Data Warehouse, SOA and Web services first in this thesis, we analyze the architecture of the traditional Data Warehouse deeply, study the application of Data Warehouse and the problems exist in Data Warehouse, and then we propose a SOA-based data warehouse system architecture, which is an innovation in this thesis. We design a criterion of packing Web services for Data Warehouse in accordance with the Common Warehouse Metamodel (CWM) and Web services technical specification, and two common Data Warehouse applications -reporting and OLAP are as examples to describe the process of specific formulation and packaging, finally, we achieve our tentative plan by a specific example of Data Warehouse.
