Abstract


With the continuous deepening reform and innovation,our school has achieved a lot in a large number of scientific researches.The library, as a knowledge collections and sediment core site,has been endowed with an obligation not only to preserve these achievements in scientific researches,but also to share them with teachers and students.Combined with colleges and universities library building in the basic strategy and practical features,we build a Fedora-based digital platform of colleges and universities library through the study of open-source system Fedora and learn building experience from other universities at home and abroad.Based on characteristics of colleges and universities library digital platforms building,this paper will do researches on meta-data distribution and harvesting,as well as on applications of Lucene localization index.It also specifically describes how to achieve the submission and retrieval of data resources and the development of modules. In detail,the paper works and contributes as follows:First of all,this paper begins from the status of digital library construction.Through the efforts in recent years,building a digital library has made great progress.Raised the digital objects,especially the mature of digital storage technologies have greatly promoted the process of building a digital library.At the same time,this paper cites the current status of library building in colleges and universities at home.Combining with the achievement of universities,it mainly focuses on the purpose and significance of library building.The paper focuses on Fedora repository system,digital object,and some standard agreement related to library building.It standards from the needs of library building,expounds the solution which bases on Fedora system,analyses and designs the logic structure and structure of the system.Moreover,it shows the development framework of the system, including functional modules,especially focuses on the flow chart of several important modules.Based on the above analysis,this paper obtains development strategy and gives the systematic detailed design and realization.It gives systematic description metadata,management metadata,technology metadata and relational metadata.The meta-data release is helpful for the release of digital objects,searching and management.The paper also specifically introduces the submission and searching functions for digital resources and gives the web query interface and OAI interface part of the code.Finally the paper summarizes and prospects for the development model based on the Fedora digital platform.The standardized development of Fedora system can improve the efficiency of development,moreover remedies the defect of Fedora itself.Besides,the release of the Fedora OAI metadata gives a very good solution to the various digital library metadata exchange.
