Abstract

With the rapid development of integrated circuit technology, integrated on a small chip of millions or even billion transistors, semiconductor technology process to enter the ultra deep submicron era. But encountered a series of challenges to the development of integrated circuit technology, verification of integrated circuits, is one of them. The verification is a very important part of the IC design process, although it can not create value, but decided the value of a quality of design and verification work is closely related to the quality of validation to provide effective protection for SOC design. With the rise of the size and complexity of integrated circuit design, validation has become the bottleneck of the chip design, which accounts for about 70% of the time and resources of the entire chip design. How fast and efficient design verification, to ensure the correctness of the design has become a difficult and hot system-on-chip verification. The papers to scientific research development based on ARM USB2.0 OTG IP core \USB2.0 OTG IP-core independent intellectual property rights, and build verification platform and complete the verification of IP, has accumulated a large number of design and verification experience. This paper introduces the USB technology, the development of the status quo and USB system principle and structure analysis USB2.0 protocol, the OTG supplement norms and UTMI agreement. In a clear and explicit theoretical premise, stating USB2.0 OTG IP core hardware implementation of the system structure and function modules. I completed the project validation program development and device controller IP core functional verification. The focus of this study is the functional verification, first verify the theory and verification techniques, to achieve fast and efficient validation study how to verify the application and verification of the technical process of rationalization, to improve the quality of chip design. On this basis, USB2.0 OTG IP core verification, for example, build verification platform for its functional verification. The goal of design verification platform is automated, modular and structured. Carried out a detailed description of the organizational structure and design verification platform. Verification platform composed mainly by the validation of IP, ARM-side bus functional modules, UTMI-side bus functional modules, test cases and emulator. In this thesis focuses on USB2.0 OTG IP verification process of the nuclear device controller, verified results. Currently, the design has been through Altera's FPGA testing, has been achieved. From the test results, the design of the indicators of the initial design requirements, to prove the design of the program and achieve success, to meet the needs of practical application.
