Abstract


With the rapid development of globalization,the relation between international trade and Foreign Direct Investment(FDI)is interconnected than ever before.It’s showed that foreign direct investment has been keeping developed since the reformation of China and made an indispensable part in our economic system nowadays,especially to the export of our country.So is there any relationship between the entry of FDI and the optimization of our country’s export goods strueture? Does FDI contribute to the optimization of the export goods Structure? It is crucial to the relevant policy formulation and practice and will actively support the foreign policy too.it summarizes the experience of utilizing FDI over the past twenty years and also explores the future strategies.Because there are still a lot of problems in the process of the usage of FDI,So how to use FDI more properly is a key problem to solve to keep the export of our country more healthy,steady and consistent.This thesis analyzes the questions mentioned above theoretically and empirically,which is practically significant to the issues including further opening-up FDI enticement,and proper policy formulation.There are five parts in this paper:the first part briefly reviews the theories of Foreign Direct Investment(FDI),discussing the theoretical relation between FDI and China’s export structure.Based on the theoretical analysis,the second part presents the development and current conditions of China’s FDI and export trade structure,analyzes historical statistical data,and concludes that the inflow of FDI keeps improving China’s export structure.The third part discusses FDI’s influence on the export of country,including both the positive aspect and negative aspect.the fourth part is the centerpiece of the thesis.based on sample exports data from 1988 to 2007,run simple regression analysis on FDI to total export volume,uses the full set of time series analysis method first advanced by Grange.The study shows that FDI can really promote China’s exportation amount but that promotion is somehow limited,it also shows that FDI brings trade effect to China,and produces certain positive impact on the optimization and upgrading of trade structure to our country.And the last part of this paper just gives some suggestions to use FDI more properly to promote the export of our country according to the practical condition of our country.
