Chinese folk art is an important part of culture.Wei fang kites as a form of folk art,and its shape and color content of the aesthetic arts is worthy of our study.In this paper,the use of progressive research methods,first of all on the history of Wei fang kites,types,styling,technology characteristics,transmission technology,environmental impact,so we Wei fang kite shape and color have a certain understanding,and thus get more updates source of inspiration and creativity. Combined with examples of the modern Wei fang kites,innovative ideas,modern art and design applied to the analysis of such issues.Wei fang Kite-depth study of the design in the modern transformation process as well as the forwarding method,and finally concluded that the design elements of Wei fang kites can be re-exaggerated,and so on to streamline the way in re-creation,and flying lessons in traditional and modern elements of the color,which can draw on to modern design.This paper kite art aesthetic research as an opportunity to reflect on folk culture from the artistic design and the relationship between folk culture and folk art of design thinking to do a preliminary exploration.Lastly,it is hoped the research topics related to the design of the units and provide a valuable reference for designers.
