Abstract

In modern society, because of its diversity of functions and the relationship with the city, the urban complex has become a most attractive public activity center. The entrance plaza has become public leisure facility, which is one of the most vibrant and active areas. With the rapid development of cities, urban environmental change brings with new opportunity and change to the entrance plaza of urban complexes.The entrance plaza of urban complex is an important part of the urban space system, which often embodies the strong flavor of urban life. But in recent years, with the intensification of development and the promotion of interests, the entrance plaza is ignored in the design of urban public space always. In real life, the city complex is often faced with the main problem, such as,the scale entrance plaza is too small, the size is inappropriate and the function is irrational, which have no association with the urban complex. To search the appropriate solution immediately is essential.This paper consists of six chapters, the first chapter is introduction, and the second to the fifth chapter are the main body, and the sixth chapter is the prospect and epilogue.The research background, purpose and significance of this paper is analyzed in the first chapter. The review of relevant domestic and international research raises the key issues to be discussed, namely, that with playing an more and more important role in the modern city, the entrance plaza of urban complex has gradually become an important influence factor of public space.In the secend chapter,the concept, characteristics, development history, and the types of the urban complex are reviewed, respectively.Also, the concept, classification, development history, meaning of existence of the entrance plaza are expounded. The purpose of introducing the entrance plaza to the urban complex is elaborated, which is to enhance the vitality and attraction force of the urban complex.The third and the forth chapter are the main body of this paper, the third chapter Third, the chapters for the main part of this article, the third chapter analyzed the entrance plaza of the urban complex in many detai angles.In the angle of city, the guidance role of urban design is emphasized. In the angle of site, the size of scale, traffic organization, boundaries, sub-space, other space environmental factors fitting with overall enviroment are analyzed respectively. In the behavioral psychology aspects, the psychology needs,space experience, visual effects of people and user-friendly design are emphasized.The design strategies of the entrance plaza of the urban complex is summarized in the forth chapter.The first strategy is based on the emphasis of urban design, including responsing to the aesthetic law of urban street space, providing the necessary public facilities and parking lotes, the pursuit of diversity of plaza environment. The second strategy is that organizing reasonable transportation plan, including reasonable transportation organization and reasonable venue management. The third strategy is the design of the external environment emphasised on the humanistic principles, including the creation of small-scale sub-space, reflecting the open space, providing high-quality public space, attention to human care of special groups. The forth strategy is to strengthen the construction of full-time, including the shaping of light environment, nightlife and the providing activation power to behaviorIn the fifth chapter, based on the entrance plaza of The Shen Nong Sun City in Zhuzhou, the spatial characteristics of the entrance plaza and the Sun Cityand the detail design of the entrance plaza are introduced,respectively. The application of the design theory of the urban complex entrance in practice is elaborated.The sixth chapter is the prospect and epilogue, the development trend of the entrance plazof the Urban complex is proposed,including the systematic plann, integration of the public urban space, the culturalization of the environment and perfection of facilities.
