In the meantime of the Polar region being discovered,it has become the focal issue of all over the world for its vast region,plenty of resources,great place for science research and unique affects for the change of the globe.And,as one of hot and attractive issues in the international law,politics and relationship.The value of polar resources,scientific research and environmental is meaningful to human future.Above all,huge number of mineral and biological resources as well as the channel resources which would change the framework of the world.All of this,come into notice to the worl.Along with increasing acuity issue of the scarcity of resources and the energy crisis etc.Many countries adopt active polar policy to advance native political status and protect polar rights and interests,Which contains from politics,law,diplomatic,science expedition and environmentalism and etc.The U.S.A.,Canada,U.K.,Australia,Russia,Chile and other countries put a lot of manpower and resource in polar research,set up polar political institution in polar research institution and diplomatic department.The research field covers politics,law,diplomatic,etc.On 1983,President Ronald Reagan subscribed "American Arctic Policy Resolution",which insisted the interests of the American in arctic relate to the national security,resources,energy resources exploitation,science expedition and environmentalism.The Resolution indicated "the interests in arctic is particular pivotal to America."It also ordained the basic essential of the American arctic policy.From this,we know that the US government pays a lot attention to the polar region.This paper is about the research of American polar during the cold war.By synthetizing analyzing and coordinating the interrelated data and the discourse,clear up the development of changes for American polar policy research.With the issue of American national security and use polar resouse for peace,studing the tactic consider,military deployment and sovereignty dispute and etc.Comparing pormer research,the paper is original and introductory.The paper consists of the introduction,text,epilogue and bibliography,and the text divides into three parts:The first part:classifies the research findings systemically as monograph,thesis, collection of thesis,research institutions,so as to explore the characteristics of this research and hold the current research situation.The second part:Focus on the main issues of this research,Synthesizes different academic viewpoints by elaborating each issue,and explores the key problem from the microperspective.The third part,explors the shortcomings of this research,and put forward the future prospects.
