From the existing research , extensive literature emphasizes the residence time continuity , community relations network , community participation, community satisfaction , residents' socio-economic status and other factors affect the sense of belonging to the community , at the same time , there are also some literature began to notice the community the closed nature of the sense of belonging to the community . The current study there are two opposing views , one view, the closure of the community to improve the residents' sense of security , improve the residential environment , the sense of community for residents ; another point of view , closed community residents the sense of security and trust and a strong sense of community for the residents , but the closed nature of the community had no significant effect . This paper argues that The community closed performance to some extent to improve the safety of the community , the environment, layout , in order to improve the satisfaction of the residents of the community , when the community closed higher at the same time , the more often embodies the socio-economic status of residents , therefore the Community the closed characteristics will improve the residents of the community a sense of belonging . Based on sampling data collected in 2006-2008 in Shanghai , on the continuity of the residence time , the network of community relations , community participation , community satisfaction , residents' socio-economic status and other factors detailed analysis of the sense of belonging to the community , and focuses on the role of community closed this factor .
