Abstract


With the continuous development of the city, shopping in supermarkets has become a common and important choice of citizen’s daily life. However, supermarkets have their special internal layout design and environmental characteristics. It’s difficult for mass of people to escape from the building when emergency incidents happen. By studying how to escape from the supermarket’s building and various aspects of self-help systems, the author find several ways to improve supermarket’s architect and layout design which can significant helping people evacuating from the supermarkets when emergencies happen.By combining psychology and ethnology with environmental design, we could make up the missing points in environmental design before. This research’s processes, results and points can be reused in environmental designs in the future. With the help of these data and results, designers can more value the needs of environments’users. It does also improve the mutual understanding between environment designers and users and let the environment servers the users better.
