Abstract


According to the agreement of WTO,China has fully opened the banking sector to the foreign banks in 2007.Therefore,China’s commercial banks not only face the domestic industry’s competition but also the full competition of foreign banks.The market that China’s commercial banks face has been changed from a single domestic market into international and domestic markets.The business environment has been restricted by domestic and international double rules not just by government.Market competition consisted of products and services in the past time but now includes the structure,mechanism,human,science,technology,strategy and so on.Under the current grim situations,it has important theoretical values and practical significances to study the competitiveness of China’s commercial barks.The main aim is to make China’s commercial banks in an invincible position in the competition of the international banking sector.Commercial banks are special enterprises.This thesis builds the competitiveness evaluation index system of China’s banks based on the theories about the competitiveness of enterprises and commercial banks.The competitiveness of eleven China’s commercial banks and the key factors that impact on the competitiveness using factor analysis are analyzed;some related suggestions on how to enhance the competitiveness of Chinese commercial banks are proposed.This thesis consists of seven chapters.The first chapter includes the background and significance of this topic;The second chapter is used to introduce the existing theories,which are the theoretical basis of this paper,about the competitiveness of enterprises and commercial banks;The third chapter states the development and shortcomings of Chinese commercial banks;The fourth chapter builds the evaluation index system of the commercial banks’ competitiveness;After collecting the related data,the fifth chapter analyzes the traditional and innovated competitiveness using factor analysis,and then do empirical analysis on the comprehensive competitiveness of China’s commercial banks;Based on the above research results,the sixth chapter finds out the reasons that why China’s commercial banks’ competitiveness is not high by comparing the joint-stock commercial banks to state-owned banks,and then gives some related suggestions on how to enhance the competitiveness of Chinese commercial banks.The last chapter devotes the summary of this thesis.
