Abstract


Being lack of Exertion ways and means, the insurance capital is going to be an obstacle for the development of insurance industry .At the same time, China’s venture capital industry, compared a single source of funding channels, most of which are government funds or government-led funds, insurance companies and other financial institutions for risk capital investment is relatively small. Investment channels for insurance funds in recent years has been gradually opening up, our government allows insurance companies to invest unlisted companies. The Author analyzed the necessity and feasibility of China’s insurance funds participated in venture capital, the result is it’s feasible and necessary under certain conditions. The authors have carefully analyzed the risk of the investment of insurance capital abroad, the history and current situation on the basis of the insurance of foreign capital to participate in the experience of venture capital is summarized.Although China’s insurance funds invest in venture capital is feasible, it will encounter many practical obstacles. Mainly appears in our external environment, investment ways, lack of talent and experience, as well as exit channels for venture capital and other imperfections. China’s insurance funds to large-scale participation at this stage not a good idea. The author put forward his own recommendations to deal with the obstacles. At the end of this article, the author put forward his own recommendations about strategy of the insurance funds invest in venture capital: participation in the insurance venture capital funds should first take the form of a well-known domestic and foreign venture capital institutions to start, and gradually familiar with the venture capital market after the in order to allow a number of big insurance companies to fully participate in venture capital.
