Abstract


Campus does not only provide the material environment to the regular educatoin behaviors, but more important, it also provides the atmosphere for the strdents to study knowledge and cultivate characters. The outer environment exerts a subtle influence on improving the students’ all-round performance and developing the students’ characters. On one side, the fine outer space performs a function of molding temperament and purifying hearts to the students who live in it. On the other side, it also supplies rich and varied spaces and places for people to communicate. Fine and attracting campus outer space can display campus images. Combined with campus education characteristics, the outer space sets up the campus brand, and then strengthens its cohesion and competition.Recent years, under the guildline of advancing the nation with science and technology, we have increased the interjection to college. At present, many colleges are enlarging their schoolyards or developing new ones. However, the construction of external activity space doesn’t get more appreciation. It’s also regretable to be lack of the recognition to external activity space in the literature of campus design. Particularly a great deal of campus-streets appear with the extension or the development of new schools. How to resolve campus-streets problem is the key in this text.This article looks forward to explore a kind of campus space environment for future and make the comprehension of education embodied really with the view of humanism and on the basis of summarizing others’research achievement, operating the theory and method of the relative fields, meanwhile combining the actural examples.This paper includes five parts. Firstly it mainly expounds the issue’s origin, background and meaning, definitions of relative concepts,methods and research frame, and analyzes and sums up academia’s discussions about construction planning in the near future; Secondly it started with researching the higher education’s development and campus evolution at home and abroad, thereby summarized the research achievements of the relative field of campus plan. Whereafter, this article is to adapt to the requirement of inter course of today’s higher education and to meet kinds of needs of teachers and students of campus, by discussing the function of external activity space and space spirit futher, this article points out several factors which affected external activity space of campus--natural conditions, culturaltradition, scale and people, atc, and thus specific ways to mould external activity space of campus, such as the consideration of global composition, the making of roads and circulation, the transition and conversion between architecture space and external activity space, and the corresponding detail design.
