Objective To investigate the association of Gansu Han people visfatin gene region rs2110385 and rs17373587 variation with type 2 diabetes mellitus (type 2 diabetes mellitus, T2DM) . Methods kinship in Gansu Province Han 188 , of which 104 cases of T2DM patients and 84 normal controls , using polymerase chain reaction - restriction fragment length polymorphism ( polymerase chainreaction -restriction fragment length polymorphism , PCR -RFLP ) rs2110385 and rs17373587 variation detection . The results of the normal control group rs2110385 genotype and allele frequencies were GG78.6 % , GT 14.3% , TT 7.1 % , G85.7 % , T 14.3% , type 2 diabetes group corresponding GG 67.3 % , GT15.4 %, TT 17.3 % , 75.0% G , T 25.0% , type 2 diabetes group TT genotype and T allele frequencies higher than the normal control group ( χ ~~ 2 = 4.315 , P <0.05 ; χ to 2 = 6.621, P <0.05). rs17373587 at 3 genotypes and allele frequencies difference was not statistically significant . In the three rs2110385 and rs17373587 genotype and body mass index in the T2DM group , systolic blood pressure , diastolic blood pressure , total triglycerides, total cholesterol , high-density lipoprotein cholesterol , low-density lipoprotein cholesterol , fasting blood glucose difference was not statistically significant (P> 0.05). Conclusion the visfatin gene rs2110385 polymorphism may be associated with the Han Chinese people with type 2 diabetes .
