Abstract


Ship stowage is a very technical work, it affects the cargo quality, shipping safety andoperation. A major objective of shipping business is to make a reasonable stowage plan toensure ship safety reduce transportation cost, improve efficiency and enhance competition ofcontainer transportation.The improvement of the quality, efficiency and reliability of theship stowage is very important to assure the safety in marine transportation.Nowadays, much more work about the research and design of a ship stowage systemfocuses on stowage calculation by computer than on fully automatic stowage, and someship stowage systems could make automatic stowage come true, but they only limit in suchaspects of stowage as ship stability or trim. It is necessary to design a ship automaticstowage system for better efficiency.Based on ship stowage theory, the thesis designs a kind of intelligent managementdecision support system which based on optimization model by BaoSteel wharf availablestowage system. Through a variety of optimization algorithm and the use of artificialintelligence technology, it has realized automatic stowage function, which remedies thedefects of the available system of BaoSteel wharf effectively and provides intelligentdecision support comprehensively.
