Objective: Breast cancer is the most common malignancy of women, one of the recent breast cancer incidence in China is also a marked increase, with the extension of average life expectancy of women, elderly patients with breast cancer (meaning over the age of 70 patients) are more and more. At present, elderly breast cancer on clinical and pathological features do not have a complete theory, and with other age groups in patients with breast cancer compared to breast cancer in elderly patients with large traumatic surgery, anesthesia, chemotherapy toxicity tolerance of difference, treat- ment of risks, complications, and a variety of reasons, so far there is no universally recognized norms of clinical treatment. In this paper, elderly breast cancer patients in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed the clinical, biological features, treatment methods for analysis concluded that the elderly with a view to further understanding of breast cancer, and can guide the next treatment.Methods: Retrospective analysis of 1994-2006 in our hospital treated 101 cases of breast cancer in elderly patients, have been surgical resection, postoperative pathological diagnosis of breast cancer, and in accordance with postoperative TNM staging, ER, PR, HER-2 immunohistochemistry test results and treatment of the situation analyzed and summarized. Follow up of 6-60 months.Results: From 1994 to 2006 the number of elderly breast cancer tended to rise. 101 cases of breast cancer in elderly patients, physical examination was found in 1 case, for stageⅠ, more than 100 cases were found in self- examination. 34 routine mammography camera inspection, accounting for 33.7%.101 cases of breast cancer in 5 cases (4.95%), 64 cases of radical mastectomy to simplify (63.37%), 32 cases of radical mastectomy (31.68%). T2 accounted for 49.5%, T3 accounted for 10.89%. The number of lymph node metastasis N0 for 57.43%, N1 is 28.71%, N2, and more than 13.86%.Ⅱ,Ⅲperiod the proportion of patients accounted for 71.29%, which accounted for 56.44% in stageⅡ.Immunohistochemical analysis revealed that elderly breast cancer ER, PR-positive rate was higher 77.23%, respectively, 85.15%; However, HER-2 positive rate of 68.32%, 31.68% negative rate, positive rate of over 2 times higher than the rate of negative . Analysis of the factors found that tumor size and number of lymph node metastasis was a positive correlation; greater mass, HER-2 positive rate of the higher, more obvious in the T3 group; the fewer the number of lymph node metastasis, ER-positive rate. Pathological type of invasive ductal carcinoma accounted for 83 cases (82.18%). After 81 cases (80.2%) adjuvant chemotherapy line, which CMF / CAF chemotherapy in 68 cases (83.95%), with T, A program of chemotherapy in 12 cases (14.81%); 72 cases (71.29%) line hormonal therapy; 20 cases of (19.8%) received radiotherapy. All patients were followed up 6-60 months, the recurrence and metastasis 11, representing 10.89%, of which bone and regional lymph node metastasis accounted for 72.7%, 2 patients died of breast cancer.Conclusion:1、Greater in elderly breast cancer breast lumps, but the late emergence of axillary lymph node metastasis, clinical stage partial late, slow the development of the disease.2、Pathological type of invasive ductal carcinoma of the main.3、ER, PR positive rates are relatively high. No HER-2 expression decreased.4、More than the number of lymph node metastasis, ER-positive rate is low.5、Age of breast cancer surgery in elderly is not a contraindication; in elderly patients with ER, PR-positive rate, endocrine treatment, high efficiency, drug side effects, compliance.6、Molybdenum camera inspection of the diagnostic accuracy for breast cancer is high.
